a love supreme

a long long time ago, i pledged to periodically post things i love in an attempt to show that summer m., super duper blogstar, isn't all hate. with o week and all the star jones junk, i figured it was again time for me to show the softer side...

so, here are some more things i heart a lot:
  • the movie, hav plenty ("you know what they say...i am the fruit punch bitch.")
  • anyone who has half the appreciation and love for hav plenty that i do.
  • anyone who has seen hav plenty on their own (meaning, i didn't force them to watch it).
  • my brand new, one of a kind puma cabana racer "sum 69s" (picture forthcoming).
  • the way nala greets me. whether i've been gone an hour or a year, she's just as excited. i wonder what it would be like if people greeted each other that way. you know, minus the pissing on the floor.
  • rrrrachel's dog, kasey, a.k.a ll cook k--because all the ladies love him. if it weren't for naleezy, he'd be my favorite. dog. ever.
  • the string arrangement on esthero's county livin'. the world i know/is a world too slow...
  • comments on my blog, because frankly, i have no life.
spread the love.

summer, your blog rocks! rocks so violently that i am usually too intimidated to leave a comment. but i hope to do so more often. and since you're talking coltrane, what do you take to be his best album (aside from 'supreme')?

dogs are so great when it comes to greetings. i have a cat and upon my arrival home she may manage to look me like 'bitch you think you did somethin special by walkin in the door? why you in my business?'

wow. your obsession with hav plenty is kinda like my obsession with sark except i really did used to make people call her inspiration line and listen to the entire message (especially if we were dating). it was like indoctrinating them into the world of colored markers, glitter and descriptive words where i like to live. if they couldn't hang, well...they just couldn't hang.

i'm past that phase of my life now, but it's comforting to know that other folks feel as strongly about things that they heart as i do.

i guess i'll have to check out the flick soon...

and i like the 'heart a lot' lists. they do indeed show a softer side which you need to exhibit since you enjoy talkin' bout my girl and all. (j/kidding. well, kinda...)

@jdid: hav plenty is about lee plenty, a grad student/writer who is in love with his bourgie ass friend, havilland savage--though she's engaged to an r&b singer (played by hill harper). havilland invites lee down to washington dc to celebrate new year's with her family and friends, because he's broke and homeless and has no friends. as a result all kinds of silliness ensues.

it's not that great, but it is super great at the same time. plus, i identify with the whole homeless grad student/disgruntled writer thing.

@holla: of course you should watch it again.

@phoenix: i'll make a better effort to come up with some more i heart lists. just 'cause i got a(n internet) crush on you, and i wanna impress you :).

@mwilli: hilarious.

@nahmix: yuh. kasey is a boy...he's just handsome as fuck.

the 69s should be up as soon as i waste the rest of this film.

Chenoa Maxwell of Hav Plenty done cut off her hair and fixin' to star delayed theatrical release of G, a ghetto ass Trois esque movie that I saw a trailer for last weekend when I along with plenty chicken dinner toting negroes viewed Roll Bounce. Why is is that we, myself included, bring dinner to the movie theatre? I ain't never seen so many Popeyes bags (along with occasional Golden Crust bag for our carribean bros and sisters) and it wasn't even Magic Johnson theatre although I did see Trois there. As Magic says (add lisp + Lansing style ebonicization), "we can do it in our own community!"

You ain't never lied Magic, well, except about the fact that you bought yourself the cure for aids.

(Sorry for the length, Summer. I'm trying my damndeness not to work at my job today.)

One time when I came back from being gone for a week Kasey, uh, got an erection. Yeah. It made me a little uncomfortable.

Sorry I've been absent from the audience. I've returned! Full force!
